2023 No More Honorary Teachers

SURABAYAPAGI.com - Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud) Muhadjir Effendy targets that by 2023 there will be no honorary teachers. He targets teachers who are currently K2 honorary status will gradually take the selection test to become Government Employees with Employment Agreements (PPPK). "2023 there are no honorary teachers anymore and God willing, in 2024 the recruitment has returned to normal. Basically at the end of this position I will solve the teachers problem," he said during a visit to the Tarakan City Government, North Kalimantan Saturday (26/1). Muhadjir revealed, in February 2019 there would be a first-aid test through KemenPAN-RB. Later there will be 159 thousand who will take the test and preferably K2 honors from 736 thousand honorary teachers. Through the PPPK scheme, all K2 honorary teachers will gradually take the test, so that they are expected to gradually be appointed as government employees with work agreements. "There is a 150 thousand PPPK test line. Later in February half of it will be opened. April will open again but specifically for K2 honorary teachers. Later it will be called. But this is closed which is really valid and combed," said Muhadjir. "The target for the next four years will be completed by 2023," he said. Muhadjir added honorary definitions as substitute teachers for retired teachers (retirement substitute teachers). So far the benefits provided for them have been taken from School Operational Assistance (BOS). Therefore, the salary received is not much because, according to regulations, it is also limited so that it can be ascertained, if the substitute teacher does not get an addition from the local government, the salary to be received is small. At present, he added, the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of Finance were in an intensive meeting to formulate the agreement. He proposed that honorary salaries be taken from the DAU (General Allocation Fund). So that the salaries of honorary teachers at the UMR level will be borne by the central government and paid through DAU. rk
