Kemendikbud Distributes 6,000 Shoes to Disaster Victims Students

SURABAYAPAGI.com, Palu - The Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) distributes 6,635 pairs of shoe assistance. These shoes are for students who are victims of the earthquake, tsunami and lyefaction in Palu City, Central Sulawesi. Head of the Department of Education and Culture of Palu City Ansyar Sutiadi said that the assistance received by the Palu City Government was being examined and sorted by the local Dinas Dikbud staff before being channeled to those entitled. "We plan to share it starting next week with students in schools affected by earthquakes, tsunamis and liquefaction, such as in the villages of Balaroa, Petobo and along the coast of Palu Bay which is badly hit by the tsunami," he said. He said the government recorded students who really needed the help of these shoes. He hopes that the distribution of these shoes is right on target and does not cause jealousy among students. From the results of sorting carried out, it found several pairs of shoes that were not suitable for use. "Some are damaged and some are not in accordance with the size of the feet of students who will receive this assistance. But we try to finish this week and we can give it next week," he said again. Ansyar believes the latest assistance can be distributed evenly and accepted by all students who are in dire need. "Hopefully this assistance will be useful in order to restore educational activities in Palu City, especially children who are directly affected by the disaster," hoped Ansyar. Teaching and learning activities in kindergarten to high school / vocational schools in Palu City are currently running normally, although quite a lot is done in emergency tents. rk
