KPK Call Tjahjo Kumolo

SURABAYAPAGI.com - Investigator of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) scheduled an examination of the Interior Minister (Mendagri) Tjahjo Kumolo on Friday (25/1). The PDI-P politician will be questioned to complete the investigation into the inactive Bekasi district head Neneng Hasanah Yasin (NHY) in the Meikarta project permit bribery case. "Today Minister of Home Affairs Tjahjo Kumolo is scheduled as a witness for NHY, Bekasi Regent," said KPK Public Relations Head Febri Diansyah in a text message on Friday (25/1). Earlier in the trial of Defendant Billy Sindoro at the Bandung District Court, the name Tjahjo was mentioned by Neneng when being examined as a witness. According to Neneng, Tjahjo asked Neneng to help with the Meikarta licensing process. "Tjahjo Kumolo told me, please permit Meikarta to be helped," Neneng said in his testimony on Monday (14/1). In this case, Bekasi Regent Neneng Hasanah Yasin and his cronies were alleged to have received gifts or promises from the Lippo Group officials to smooth out the licensing of the Meikarta development project. The total fee promised by Lippo Group was IDR 13 billion. However, the granting of bribes that have been realized for Neneng Hasanah Yasin and his cronies is approximately Rp 7 billion. Rp 7 billion has been given by Lippo Group officials to Neneng Hasanah Yasin through the heads of agencies. Tjahjo Kumolo previously stressed that he was ready to be summoned and give information to the KPK. This was due to the statement of Bekasi Regent Neneng Hasanah Yasin who claimed to have received his directives regarding the 84.6 hectare Meikarta project. "The Ministry of Home Affairs has been questioned and if needed again, I am ready to present and give information to the KPK," Tjahjo said, answering reporters questions after opening the 2019 RPJMD Musrenbang in North Sumatra, Tuesday (22/1). rk
