Agus Martowardojo Becomes Tokopedia’s Chief Commissioner

SURABAYAPAGI.com, Jakarta - PT Tokopedia announced that Agus Martowardojo had joined the ranks of the company’s leadership, as the President Commissioner. Previously, Agus Martowardojo was the Governor of Bank Indonesia for the period 2013-May 2018, the finance minister (2010-2013), and the managing director of Bank Mandiri (2005-2010). "I see Tokopedia very consistently empowering people through technology, so that the Indonesian economy can continue to grow in a strong, balanced and sustainable manner," Agus said in a press release on Thursday (10/1). Agus said he was happy to be able to join Tokopedia. In the future, he will contribute his experience to support the development of an inclusive economy. "I am pleased to be able to join Tokopedia and contribute my experience to support the company’s aspirations to encourage the development of an inclusive economy," Agus said. Agus joined Tokopedia when this leading technology company in Indonesia entered a new growth phase, and was developing its ecosystem into infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS). This is to empower and strengthen the Indonesian economy inclusive, both online and offline. Tokopedia CEO and Co-Founder William Tanuwijaya said that Agus Martowardojo’s experience and wisdom will be very valuable in fostering Tokopedia leaders and institutions to become world-class technology companies. "Pak Agus’ presence will strengthen the company’s performance momentum which is entering its 10th year to realize a digital economic equalization mission," William said. rk
