"Black Panther" Makes History Nominated for Oscar 2019

SURABAYAPAGI.com - The Marvel Studios film Black Panther managed to become the king of the domestic box office last year. Success did not stop this year, the film was included in the Oscar nomination and became the first superhero film to be included in the best film category The status of the film as a pioneer for the representation of colored skin has been clearly seen since the first release. This time, the effort was glimpsed by the Academy Awards and became another achievement for the Marvel Studios film. Aside from being the best film, Black Panther collected a total of seven nominations for the 91st Academy Awards. The six other nominations were costume designs, original songs, original songs from Kendrick Lamar and SZA "All The Stars", production designs, and two categories of sound, editing and mixing. But, the nomination of the director and scriptwriter was not successfully obtained by Ryan Coogler. Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa and other actors did not get the chance to compete for the prestigious trophy. Although he didn’t make it to the top nomination, Coogler previously told EW, he always saw Black Panther as something deeper than just an action adventure. Aside from being the first superhero film to get the best film nomination, Black Panther is also a film from the first comic book that was nominated. The nomination was once obtained by a film adapted from daily comics.
