According to the Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (ASITA), Asnawi Bahar, this is a shame for domestic and government airline entrepreneurs. Asnawi considered this would damage the image of the government and domestic airlines. He hopes the Ministry of Transportation can firmly regulate this. He gave an example of the increase in ticket prices for Garuda Indonesia aircraft, which made people reluctant to buy, resulting in an empty plane. Other groups also automatically make our tourism very disturbed, because Citilink and Sriwijaya also raise prices," he explained. The impact, said Asnawi, was felt by tourism businesses. The increase in airplane ticket prices makes tour packages expensive and not competitive. The decline in domestic tourists can be seen on last year’s new holiday, which should be peak season, down by 30 percent. "The impact will be an increase in tourists abroad. For example Padang - Jakarta is Rp 2 million, but Jakarta - Kuala Lumpur is only Rp 500 thousand. Hotel prices are also cheap in KL. This will make Indonesian people vacation abroad so the risk of spending very big, "he explained. Meanwhile the Ministry of Tourism hopes that the Ministry of Transportation can immediately overcome the polemic of airline ticket prices which are considered very expensive by the community.
