Agricultural Insurance Begins to Attract Lamongan Farmers

SURABAYAPAGI.com, Lamongan - Agricultural insurance products that are pledged to help overcome farmers’ losses are starting to be sought by farmers in Lamongan. This can be seen from the enthusiasm of farmers using insurance services in the planting season of October 2017 to March 2018 and up to 43 hectares. The Rice Farm Business Insurance Development Program (AUTP) was delivered by Acting Head of the Food, Plantation and Horticulture Office (TPHP) Rujito through the Head of Public Relations and Protocol Agus Hendrawan, who was asked to know that the planting season reached IDR 712,000,000. The claim was issued after a damage survey conducted by PT Asuransi Jasa Indonesia (Jasindo) program as the executor. While in the first and second planting season in 2018 insured agricultural land increased to an area of ??136,103 hectares. Farmers who want to insure their agricultural land can register with the TPHP Service by paying IDR 36,000 each planting season. After the premium is approved, a policy will be issued which will be valid for one planting season, which is 4 months. This accepted premium can be very low because it receives subsidies from the government. Of the supposed Rp. 180 thousand per hectare, 80 percent is borne by the government. While the insurance price that will be received by farmers if the paddy fields increase by 100 percent damage by IDR 6 million per hectare. If there is no damage, the premium package is approved by the two packs to be forfeited. In 2019 the target is 50,000 hectares of insured agricultural land. Currently the TPHP Service is still waiting for a list of land areas approved by PT Jasindo.jir
