Aprindo Bali Supports Reduction of Plastic Bags

SURABAYAPAGI.com, Denpasar - The Indonesian Retail Entrepreneurs Association (Aprindo) in Bali supports the Denpasar City Government program related to reducing the use of plastic bags. The program has been contained in the Mayor Regulation No. 36 of 2018. "We support the movement to reduce the use of plastic bags contained in Perwali Number 36 of 2018," said Chairman of the Bali Aprindo, Anak Agung Ngurah Agung Agra Putra, in Denpasar, Friday (18/1). During the socialization of the officer, Aprindo also presented members with preparedness and anticipation when there was a reduction in the use of plastic bags. "Before the Perwali was implemented, we also took steps to promote Apindo members," Agung said, accompanied by Chairman of Aprindo Denpasar, Komang Tangkas, State Officer. According to him, his side also carried out the support to the Denpasar City Government, so that they met face to face with the Deputy Mayor of Denpasar, IGN Jaya Negara on Thursday (17/1). Therefore, his party continues to make maximum efforts, synergizes and coordinates with regard to the policy of enforcing the officer since 1 January 2019. This policy also provides benefits to retail store owners because it can reduce the cost of providing plastic bags. Moreover, today many people are aware of shopping with their own bags. In the future, it will continue to communicate with the Denpasar City Government, especially the Department of Industry and Trade in charge of this. In addition, the future coordination is expected to be more intense so that the achievement of the program can be maximized. Aprindo offers a plastic alternative for buyers, namely the use of cardboard or buying a shopping bag that can be reused. The Deputy Mayor of Denpasar, IGN Jaya Negara, said that Aprindo Bali’s support for the success of Perwali was appreciated. Basically, every policy must be challenged so that it requires support from various elements of society. "Bali is a tourism area, so we can’t overcome plastic problems that have become global issues together," he said. Jaya Negara invites all people to jointly reduce the use of plastic bags and continue to spark innovations to make this positive step a success. "It is our hope that all levels of society will be able to provide smart ideas as a substitute for plastic bags as well as efforts to increase creativity that have an impact on the creative economy," he said. rk
